Required New Hire Orientation Training
- Day 1: Agency Mission/Handbook, Recovery, Diversity, Compliance, Accreditation, & CAP Competencies (6 hours)
- Day 2: NCI – A & B (8 hours)
- Day 3: CPR/First Aid and OSHA, Safe Driving, Workplace Violence, & Safe Lifting (6 hours)
- Day 4: Med Admin as scheduled w/ the RN (4 hours)
Required Ongoing Training
- Annual Missions Training: (4 hours) This training is required to be completed by all employees during the first month of the quarter in which you began working for the agency – January, April, July or October.
- NCI – A & B: This training must be updated EVERY YEAR before the current certificate expires.
- CPR: This training must be updated EVERY YEAR before the current certificate expires.
- First Aid: This training must be updated EVERY 2-3 YEARS & before the current certificate expires.
- Additional Trainings Available: (Some of these trainings are required of certain roles and are optional for all other staff.)
AFL, PCP, PCT, Crisis Response, Crisis Planning, Cultural Diversity, Autism, Supervision, & Documentation.
What can I expect?
- The agency will follow all rules regarding training requirements.
- We will provide a comfortable learning atmosphere.
- Some testing is necessary and trainers are supportive of varying learning styles. In most cases 80% correct is required.
- We will inform you or your supervisor of any changes or cancellations ASAP.
- We will accept outside certification for CPR/FA and NCI. Other trainings must be taken within the Agency.
How do I register?
At least 3 days before the training, supervisors or admin staff send an email to Stephanie Stephens – sstephens@ahrnc.com – provide the following information:
- Staff’s name
- Staff’s contact number
- The branch this staff is affiliated with
- Training names and dates to be attended
How can I make it go smoothly?
- Arrive on time. Late admittance will not be allowed under most circumstances.
- Do not bring others with you that are not registered like kids, consumers, friends, etc. or you will be asked to leave with them.
- Bring a snack. We do not provide refreshments, but you are welcome to bring food and drink.
- Bring a black ball point pen.
- Get enough sleep. It makes it easier to pay attention & to learn.
- Put away cell phones until break time. No texting or talking during the training will be tolerated.
- Ask questions and participate in discussions.
- Communicate learning or testing difficulties to the trainer so that accommodations may be made.
